Founded in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, PediHelp Pediatric Support Foundation is a non-governmental organization committed to alleviating the financial burden of medical care for children facing significant health challenges. We believe that every child deserves access to life-saving treatments without the interference of financial constraints.

PediHelp began with a vision to create a safety net for vulnerable children in our communities. Our founding members recognized the pressing need for financial support among families struggling to afford healthcare for their children.

Our Vision: 1,000 Families by 2030

Our goal is clear: by 2030, PediHelp will have directly facilitated life-saving medical interventions for 1,000 families of children facing critical health crises. We are not just providing temporary relief; we are systematically dismantling the financial barriers that currently dictate patient outcomes.

Guided by the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, PediHelp functions as a bridge between institutional clinical expertise and the families that need it most. Our operations are anchored in three pillars:

  • SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being): We ensure every vulnerable child has immediate access to life-saving care.
  • SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities): We close the healthcare inequality gap by mobilizing targeted funding to eliminate the financial disparities that stall a child’s recovery.
  • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): We operate through proactive, direct partnerships with attending physicians and medical institutions, ensuring support is delivered exactly where and when the clinical need is greatest.

Our mission is to eliminate barriers to medical care for vulnerable children through targeted financial support and proactive partnerships. Through these clinical collaborations, we clear outstanding medical bills, sponsor urgent surgical interventions, and provide the essential supplies necessary to sustain a child through prolonged hospital admissions.

In Nigeria, systemic health inequities disproportionately affect marginalized, low-income communities. When pediatric patients face critical illnesses, the intersecting crises of poverty and inadequate healthcare infrastructure create devastating outcomes. Families living below the poverty line cannot afford out-of-pocket medical expenses, leading to prolonged hospital stays, increased exposure to hospital-acquired infections, and severe emotional and financial toxicity. This systemic failure primarily impacts vulnerable children who are denied the right to equitable healthcare and recovery simply due to their socioeconomic status, trapping families in a cycle of medical debt and preventable suffering.
